People gravitate to things that are unique and bold yet instantly comprehensible.
Loewy was one of the first to understand this, him and his company remade cars, public transportation, the lucky strike cigarette pack and much more because they understood what aesthetics were needed for a certain product to succeed and be approved at the time and place they were lunched.
So maybe your product just needs a face lift, often a colour change might work, or in music a simple new detail/instrument/tempo added to a familiar and original style might save the artist from falling into public boredom.
Very important also is not to fall in the obvious, or the too much familiar cause that itself destroys the pleasure of our curious (or not) minds.
